A family crest is a classic school project, a lovely gift and a fun way to put your family's story into one picture. The hard part isn't the drawing — it's deciding which symbols to use, what they stand for and how to explain them. This crest maker does both.
Type your family name, a motto (or leave it empty and the AI will suggest one) and a couple of lines about your family: what the parents do, what the kids are into, your pets, where you live. Those become the symbols: a firefighter dad becomes a helmet, a nurse mum a heart with a heartbeat line, a love of camping a tent and pine trees, a rabbit called Coco — a rabbit. Your family name goes on the ribbon below the shield and the motto on a ribbon above it.
Pick one of three styles. "Child's drawing" looks like a crest drawn by a ten-year-old with coloured pencils and felt-tips, perfect as a model for a class assignment. "Classic heraldry" has a knight's helmet, mantling and oak branches. "Modern flat" is a clean emblem for a family chat, T-shirts or mugs. With the crest you get a printable A4 sheet with the motto and the meaning of every symbol and colour — a ready-made write-up for school. Crests are drawn by GPT Image 2.5, and religious, political and military emblems are left out.
