M4A to MP3 Converter

iPhone Voice Memos and iTunes audio as universal MP3s.

I

M4A is AAC audio. It's what the iPhone Voice Memos app records and what many iTunes tracks use. It sounds great, but some players, car stereos and transcription services only take MP3.

Add M4A files above and download MP3s. For a conversation or lecture, 64–96 kbps in mono keeps the file tiny while speech stays clear.

FAQ

Do protected iTunes tracks convert?+

No. DRM-protected files (old iTunes purchases, M4P) can't be converted.

Need a transcript?+

Use the AI Transcribe tool: upload the recording and get the text.

Is it free?+

Yes. Converting and compressing are free and need no sign-up. Without an account you can send files up to 100 MB and videos up to 10 minutes to the server; signed in, up to 500 MB and 30 minutes. In the browser, pictures up to 150 MB and videos up to 1 GB are handled locally.

Where do my files go?+

Files are processed right in your browser and never uploaded. If the browser can't handle a file (a rare codec or a very large file), it goes to our server instead and is deleted about an hour later.
