A wedding without Grandma, the first photo of a new baby that Dad never got to hold, a family reunion with one empty place. Photo editors can add a person to a picture, but it takes skill and hours of work to make it look real rather than cut out and pasted in.

Upload two photos: the one you want to add your loved one to — a family, wedding or group picture — and a photo of them on their own with the face clearly visible. It can be an old print, black-and-white or a little worn. Choose where they should be: where they fit best, on the left or right, in the middle or standing behind the group, and add a wish in your own words, such as “next to the bride, holding her hand” or “in his favourite grey suit”.

The AI keeps your photo as it is — the same people, faces, poses, background and colours — and adds your loved one with their own face, at the right size for where they stand, lit like everyone else, with shadows on the ground and on the people next to them. An old black-and-white portrait comes back in natural colour, as if it had been taken by the same camera. By default they look simply present, as if they had been there. For a memorial print you can pick a soft warm light around them instead: gentle and dignified, with no wings, halos or ghost effects.

Standard quality uses Nano Banana 2. Best quality uses Nano Banana Pro, which blends in old, small or black-and-white portraits more naturally. Make one or two variants and keep the one that feels right. It works just as well for someone who is alive but couldn't make it: a friend abroad on the wedding day, or a relative who missed the reunion.

Adding a loved one to a photo: FAQ

Which photo of my loved one should I use?+

One where they are on their own and their face is clearly visible, looking roughly towards the camera. The sharper the face, the more it will look like them. Old prints, black-and-white and slightly damaged photos are fine; for those, Best quality gives a more natural result.

Will the rest of my photo change?+

The AI is told to keep everything else exactly as it is: the same people with the same faces, expressions, poses and clothes, the same background, framing and colours. It doesn't remove or replace anyone. Look the result over before you print it.

Will it really look like them?+

The AI keeps their face, age, skin tone, hair, glasses and facial hair from your photo, but it does draw them into a new scene, so small details can differ. Make two variants or try Best quality, and keep the one that looks most like the person you remember.

Can I add them in the clothes they usually wore?+

By default they keep the clothes from their photo. Write in the wishes field what you want instead, for example “in his navy suit” or “in a light summer dress” — up to 200 characters.

Can I add more than one person?+

One person per run. To add a second, run the tool again on the result.

What photos are not allowed?+

Before charging, both photos are checked: no nudity, no politicians, and only one person in the second photo. You also confirm you have the right to use the photos and that the result is for you and your family.

How much does it cost?+

Standard quality is 10 credits per photo, Best quality is 19. Two variants at once cost 20 credits in Standard. If a picture doesn't come out, its credits are returned.
