PNG to JPG Converter

Heavy PNGs into light JPGs for email, websites and chat.

I

PNG stores images losslessly, so a photo saved as PNG is several times bigger than the same photo as JPG. That's worth it for screenshots and logos, not for photos: they upload slowly, hit form limits and bloat web pages.

Add your PNGs above and download JPGs. Transparent areas are filled with white. If you need transparency and a smaller file, keep the PNG and compress it on the “Compress image” page instead.

FAQ

Will quality drop?+

JPG is lossy, but at 85–90% the difference isn't visible. Keep small text and thin lines in screenshots as PNG.

Can I keep transparency?+

Not in JPG. For transparency plus a small size, convert PNG to WEBP or compress the PNG.

Is it free?+

Yes. Converting and compressing are free and need no sign-up. Without an account you can send files up to 100 MB and videos up to 10 minutes to the server; signed in, up to 500 MB and 30 minutes. In the browser, pictures up to 150 MB and videos up to 1 GB are handled locally.

Where do my files go?+

Files are processed right in your browser and never uploaded. If the browser can't handle a file (a rare codec or a very large file), it goes to our server instead and is deleted about an hour later.
