WEBP to JPG Converter

Images saved from websites, turned into JPGs any app accepts.

I

Websites serve images as WEBP because they load faster, so that's what your browser saves. Then the trouble starts: older Photoshop versions, many editors, upload forms and print services expect JPG or PNG.

Drop the WEBP files above and they become JPGs right in your browser, with nothing uploaded. Transparent areas turn white, because JPG has no transparency; pick PNG if you need to keep it.

For animated WEBP, the JPG gets the first frame. To keep the animation, convert it to GIF or MP4 instead.

FAQ

Why do images from websites save as WEBP?+

Sites use WEBP to load faster: at the same quality it's lighter than JPG. Your browser saves the file exactly as the site served it.

JPG or PNG?+

JPG for photos, since the files are smaller. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with a transparent background.

Does it work on a phone?+

Yes. Open the page in your mobile browser, pick files from Photos or Files, and download the result.

Is it free?+

Yes. Converting and compressing are free and need no sign-up. Without an account you can send files up to 100 MB and videos up to 10 minutes to the server; signed in, up to 500 MB and 30 minutes. In the browser, pictures up to 150 MB and videos up to 1 GB are handled locally.

Where do my files go?+

Files are processed right in your browser and never uploaded. If the browser can't handle a file (a rare codec or a very large file), it goes to our server instead and is deleted about an hour later.
