Slow Down a Song

Slower for practice or dancing, without the warped sound.

A real result

Before
After

Source: a fragment of a song made with Lyria. Right: 80% tempo, same key.

I

The “Tempo” slider sets the speed from 50% to 200% while the key stays the same: voices don't drop into a growl when slowed or squeak when sped up.

Slow down a tricky guitar or piano part to learn it, rehearse choreography at half speed, or match a track to your workout pace. If you've run “Find key & BPM”, the new BPM is shown too.

After that “slowed” sound, where the song is lower as well as slower? Move the key down 2–4 semitones too.

FAQ

How do I make a slowed version of a song?+

Set the tempo to 80–85% and move the key down 2–3 semitones.

Is it free?+

Yes. No sign-up, no subscription, no watermark. In the browser, files up to 1 GB. When the server is needed: without an account, up to 100 MB, 10-minute videos and 60-minute audio; signed in, up to 500 MB, 30-minute videos and 3 hours of audio.

Where do my files go?+

Files are processed right in your browser and never uploaded. If the browser can't handle one (a rare format, a very large file or an old browser), it goes to our server instead and is deleted about an hour after it's ready.
