Song Key Finder

Find a track's key and tempo, then shift it to suit your voice if you need to.

I

Add a song and hit “Analyze”. It runs in your browser and takes a few seconds: you get the key (say, A minor), its Camelot code for harmonic mixing, and the tempo in BPM.

You also see how confident the result is and the runner-up. Relative keys such as C major and A minor share the same notes and can be hard to tell apart from a recording. If the song is tuned away from A = 440 Hz, that's shown as well.

Key doesn't suit your voice? Hit “Change the key” to shift it by semitones without changing the tempo.

FAQ

How accurate is it?+

Reliable for songs with clear harmony. Speech, drums without melody and songs that change key are harder; check the confidence and the runner-up then.

What's a Camelot code?+

A DJ-friendly way to write keys: tracks with the same or neighbouring codes (8A, 8B, 7A, 9A) mix well together.

Is it free?+

Yes. No sign-up, no subscription, no watermark. In the browser, files up to 1 GB. When the server is needed: without an account, up to 100 MB, 10-minute videos and 60-minute audio; signed in, up to 500 MB, 30-minute videos and 3 hours of audio.

Where do my files go?+

Files are processed right in your browser and never uploaded. If the browser can't handle one (a rare format, a very large file or an old browser), it goes to our server instead and is deleted about an hour after it's ready.
